hey guys I have a problem that am loosing sleep over.. I have a mazda rx7 transmission . The transmission with the shifter that is located foward not the one where the shifter is located at the back of the tranny. well the problem is that for some reason I cant get a shifter to fit it. The shifter I am using is from my 1985 tranny . The tranny I got in the car is out of a 1980. I choose to go with the 80 transmission because the shifter is not behind the tranny and it was suitable for my swap on car. I mean what am I doing wrong here... Is there a special shifter for the earlier stick shift transmission?
