I just picked up a 1980 X-anniversary Rx7 (red) from someone here in town, and do not intend to keep it. This is a very rare car, and in excellent condition. The Previous Owner started a full renovation of the car, the interior minus a few cracks in the dash looks practically brand new. The exterior is rust free, and about 1/3 sanded to bear metal and primed. the other 2/3 is the original paint. There are a few dings (mostly hail dmg), but no major dmg, or dents. The motor and trans is out, but the motor makes good compression (12a) and the trans appears to be fine (I'm not a transmission guy I'll admit), and everything looks to be good with the exception of vacuum lines and hoses. The PO also said that the thrust bearing had gone out and needed to be replaced.

I will part this car out, or sell as a whole, but it needs to go FAST! The car is located in Texas, in the panhandle, the only pictures I have at the moment are ones the PO took while doing his restoration. I will post them below.

For those that don't know this isn't the 10th anniversary RX7 which was released in 1988 as an FC3S, but in 1980 Mazda badged 8000 vehicles with the Roman numeral X to mark 10 years of Mazda in the US. Models covered were the GLC, 626 & the RX-7.

I wouldn't part this car, I would sell it as a whole. I did noticed that the Anniversary X pin stripping is gone.
