I just got a 1998 rx-7 turbo and i have no idea what to do to it. So i was searching the web and found this site, so i thought i would ask you guys what your suggestions are on what to do to the car. The only goal i have with this car is to be able to beat a stock sti? I was thinking about upgrading the turbo to a t70 but im not sure what else i should do ex. ecu, fuel injectors and exc. Thanks for your help

It is a typo...right? 1988.

It's all depends on many factors; reliability mod... would be an ideal for daily beater to performance mod...

BOV, FMIC, fuel managment, bigger snail, bigger charge pipes/DP/exhaust, upgrade the LSD, new suspension

Yeah...you can always get bigger turbo but, bigger the turbo...more of turbo lag you'll experience.

First mod should be intake and exhaust. Simple and reliable.

After that, grounding mod, replace your vac lines, then go on to fuel mods, then, internal.

And, as I mentioned before...it's all depends what you want your FC to be!

HKS makes a cast manifold that is acually worth the money. I think it is like 400 i think. But it will hold up better than a tubular. The only reason that is is because the welds on a tubular tend to break.

Yeah, I've got HKS cast mani... have it ceramic coate it, though.

I also heard about them tube mani being inferior.

No money at all? That would be little difficult.

You can always construct a cold air intake chamber/box.
