Well, you might be able to fix it, but if I were you, with anything electrical, I'd replace it. Thats what I would do. ;)

If it is a spark then it could possibly be an exposed wire which could be easily fixed with electrical tape. BUT since it is a spark and sparks can burn down your car I'd replace the whole harness.

Yep...you could just rig it with the taping of the wire..but change the puppy...unless you like to cook marshmollows with your burning car. :D

I dont think you may want to replace your entire harness for a wire... The only spark from around the oil filter I can think of is the starter wires.. Just replace those wires. There is a wire going to the oil pressure sending unit. but I doubt its that. Check what wire it is thats making the spark and let me know. No need in replacing the entire harness. When the harness is 14-17 years old the heat and oil residue tend to break down the plastic on the wires and that includes the connectors so be care full when disconnecting shit.. and if you can post a pic

You could call a few junkyards and find the year/model rx you have, and see if they have one thats been recked, or something... you can sometimes find a decent wireing harness out of old cars that still have plenty of life left in them, but, it might take some looking. I know the guys around here would just give it away for free if you took the time to find it and pull it out yourself, hey... its cheap!

You can't even get wiring harness from the dealer, so best bet is to go to junk yard and get one. You can't swap s4 and s5 (you can't use s5 wire for s4, visaversa)

And if and when you get the harness be careful removing them connectors as they are just as brittle as wires.

My suggestion is to replace that particular wire/wires completely and wrap it with thermal tape unless you want to cook that one, too :) .

I know a guy who redone his harness completely with new wires. (told me took him 2 weeks)

The ones I was referring to are salvaged ones that Mazda South here in Austin has in their parts warehouse.

in order to run a 90 harness, you would first have to use the 90 ecu...
then you would need to use the 90 afm, u/lim, tps, mop and some other shit, I cant think of. O yea injectors.... its a fukin mission.... shit I would charge you about 300 to change all that shit.... including the harness which is a mission..

I understand you totally since I had the same problems with my PC! I bought it years ago! Basicly it kind of out of date. I'd been living in Ottawa and I had my PC updated there but when I woved to NY and faced other challenges such as all my documents and videos was disappeared from my computer. I found one great website and contacted them at night since I was more (https://www.salvagedata.com/raid-data-recovery/)
worry and freaked out! raid data recovery specialists was consulted and did full diagnose free. I guess you better talk them. I believe they're able to help you! If you do, please let me know the result!
