1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo that I bought new - single owner.
- All matching parts, all original, except Turbo was replaced twice (long ago, once under warranty, due to crack in cast iron)
- 203K miles
- Sapphire blue
- Everything works except the A/C, which needs a new compressor
- Garaged its entire life - very little use last 15 years - few times a month
- First 10 years were in NJ and CT, so minimal rust showing in rr fender and right rocker panel
- NEVER overheated
- engine compression still very good
- NEVER painted
- ORIGINAL interior in very good condition
- oil changed routinely
- NEVER CRASHED, but did slide off an icy road into a guard rail once at about 3 mph - repaired 20 years ago and not visible
- minor damage to rf fender
- dent in driver door
- front spoiler is cracked

If you want a beauty, this ain't it. If you want all original with matching numbers and driving today, this may be what you want.

I can tell you every single thing that ever happened to this car. Only drive it a few times per month - will still do at least 120mph.

Can send pix if any interest. I want to find it a good home, rather than a crusher.

$5,000.

I bought an 85 rx7 a couple of months ago and I got it running and driving after twenty years of sitting. It ran beautifully. One day when I was pulling into my drive way, the clutch lost all pressure and stuck to the floor. I figured the clutch was just loose so I tighted it up, which helped. But it still sticks to the floor occasionally and ever since that day the car won't start. I found out it was leaking coolant in the engine bay and the cab whsere the pedals are. I can't pinpoint the leak. But while I was under the car looking for the leak, I changed the fuel filter. I cleaned the carb and put a battery I had in my mini in, it still won't start and the clutch still sticks to the floor. Anyone know what it could be?

Wholesaler Closeout Feeds

At RockAuto.com, "Wholesaler Closeout parts" means inventory purchased from competing stores, car manufacturers, etc. Maybe the competing store is...

At RockAuto.com, "Wholesaler Closeout parts" means inventory purchased from competing stores, car manufacturers, etc. Maybe the competing store is going out of business or maybe they decided there is no longer a big market for those parts in their geographic region.

Prices for Wholesaler Closeout parts are usually at least 30% less than RockAuto's regular, low priced inventory. Closeout parts did not come directly from the part manufacturer and so are covered by a 30-day warranty rather than regular manufacturer warranties.

RockAuto regularly has new Wholesaler Closeout parts to offer but quantities are always limited. If you want to be one of the first to know when new Wholesaler Closeout parts are offered for your vehicle then look up your Year, Make, Model in the www.RockAuto.com catalog. Next to your vehicles engine size click on the ‘RSS’ box. On the next page choose your RSS reader or choose to receive emailed announcements.

Wholesaler Closeout parts can always also be found just by shopping the RockAuto.com catalog. Just look for parts labeled "Wholesaler Closeout" or parts with a "Choose:" box where you can choose between closeouts and regular inventory.

Please use the link below to see a current example of what you might see for a 1983 MAZDA RX-7 1.1L R2

http://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclef...l=en&html=true

My name is Michael, and I aspire to be a mechanical engineer. I have a bit of experience with Skylines, as I run RedLine Time Attack in an R32, but rotary engines are such a marvel that I had to have one. I bought a 1989 RX-7 GXL on saturday, 21 April. I love it. It has an ignition timing issue, which I posted about in the Second Gen Specific section, but once it runs, it will be a dream. I'm really not one of those people who is going to come on here and assume they know everything. I have dealt with those people before, but as I said in my other post, I'm here to learn, and I'm ready for a new challenge.
