You can also locate a yellow connector in the engine compartment by the passenger's side and close to the pressure sensor. You can jump it and see if the fuel pump comes on. Good luck!

It seems that you have leaking fuel injectors. The only way to start it up is exactly what you are doing or have on/off switch installed where the fuse is. I had the same problem and corrected it...
