1988 10th AE cranks but no Fire.... Possible Fuel pump problem?

Okay I bought me a 10th ae today.... it cranks over freely but does not fire AT ALL..... i removed the fuel pump and was trying to hear if it would kick on when i turned the key forward.... it does...

Just got my first car a 1983 GSL for what i think is a steal... 300 dollars includes both glass and metal sunroof and body in pretty straight body...

anyways they said it just doesnt run i know...
