Default RX-7 Steering Gear Maintenance
The steering gear is located on the steering column shaft near the firewall. A large white plastic bolt on top provides access to the reservoir. It may be stuck from disuse so be careful about unscrewing. A socket or wrench could round the corners so I suggest using a small vise-grips instead. Use a straw to gauge the fluid level which should be near the top. If the oil looks discolored you might consider siphoning it out using plastic tubing. Replace with about ten ounces of 80W-90 or 90W gear oil.
