im not farmiliar with horespower to 1/4 mile time ratios, but the car i am about to buy i have a dyno sheet that says 289 HP/ 236 trq. my friend is telling me that it will be capable of 12 second passes. but im guessing low 13's. someone enlighten me

What I would do is this:

1, change all the fluids (very important) including tranny

2, ck the fluids to see if anything needs to be ck'd out (excessive metal flakes in gear oil/trans fluid) engine oil the same way except for possible water contamination (hope not)

3, ck for brake to see how it performs (normal)

4, If all cks out...SEE HOW FAST IT GOES

Have you ever done 1/4 mile at the track?

If not familiar with timing...you'll be SOL.

If you're familiar I bet you'll be running low 13s with that number.
