Default starting trouble
HEY GUYS..
NEED SOME HELP HERE..
MY FD 68,000mi WAS ON A CROSS COUNTRY JOURNEY FROM CA TO NY
WHICH WAS FUN ESPECIALLY WHEN MY FD REACHED 150 MPH IN NEVADA. BUT SOME 1000 MILES LATER, RIGHT ABOUT MID WAY IN NEBRASKA I WAS DRIVING THROUGH THE CITY AND SHE JUST LOST POWER AND DIED ON ME. TRIED RESTARTING IT OVER AND OVER WITH NO LUCK. . JUST A ROUGH IDLE AND THEN IT STALLS. I HEAR A CLICKING SOUND WHICH SOUNDS LIKE AN INJECTOR. MY APEX POWER FC WAS TELLING ME THAT I WAS BOOSTING ON AND OFF WHEN THE CAR WASNT EVEN ON. I REPLACED THE BOOST SENSOR AND THE READING WENT BACK TO A STEADY NUMBER ANDY WAS .. IT STARTS UP AND STALLS AND IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF FUEL IS IN THE ENGINE AND NOT FIRING OFF AND A LOT OF WHITE SMOKE IS COMING OUT THE EXHAUST THAT SMELLS LIKE FUEL.. EVERY MECHANIC IN NEBRASKA HAS A DIFFRENT OPINION .. FROM ALTITUDE CHANGES TO BAD GAS
IF ANY ONE HAS SOME BASIC TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS ILL APPRECIATE IT. I AM HOPING ITS NOT A SEAL BUT SOMETHING SIMPLE LIKE A VACCUM LINE OR ELETRICAL... NEED HELP....
THANX...
SAL

Hey Sal...I was talking to Bluestreak when you got stuck in NE

Having to deal with "bad"gas...have you or any of the mech tried to clean the injector?

It could be as simple as that. Furthermore, fuel pressure after high and low side pump.

Sry to hear that you got stuck there. Hope things go well... email me if you need anything further

the seals are weak as hell n you prob damaged one when you were going 150. do a compression test n that will tell you everything

I thought white smoke was coolant and black smoke was fuel.

the black smoke all depends on how rich the fuel is. my good friend joey keiman owner of excessive autosports here in town has a dyno and one more than 20 times ive seen black ass smoke untill the leaned the car out. so black color has little to do with oil or fuel. it could be both depending.
