Default 3rd gen tranny on a TII?
Is it or would it be possible to use a third gen tranny on a tII. I want to use it on the tII or a non-turbo to turbo project. If it is possible does anybody know any other specifics I would need to know?

A TII tranny is strong, I'd take it over a 3rd gen simply because I know it will fit. I never actually checked those specifications out but I have heard that rx7 trannies vary in size due to the differing lenghts of each generation.

I don't know if the tranny is stronger on a t2, but I do know the rear end is. A lot of 3rd gen owners do a 87-88 t2 rear diff swap.

A TII tranny is strong enough for whatever he has planned. I would say that the FD tranny is probably a little weaker or just as strong, no reason to switch them though.
