Wish you luck Simon!

For the budget you're looking at you'll find stock n/a in less than desirable condition, of course, unless you get "lucky"!

Be sure to test for compression if you want your rex to run for a while before rebuild...

And BTW, welcome to rx7forums!

thanks man

it shouldn't be that hard i've auctally seen a few come and go, but i haven't had the money til now. my friend just picked up 1 for 1200 87 GXL i believe, or whatever the luxury edition was. it only had 113k miles on it, was perfect. he got a good deal on that one.

Ha ha ha, yeah. It's all about just keeping your eyes open and your wallet shut for a while. I scored an 86 GXL for 400.

I have heard rotaries lasts over 200K miles but, rule of thumb is about 160k... As matter of fact I slapped on rebuilt on mine at 112K.

I'm not trying to freak you out or anything, but you'll need to be cautious and prepared to spend $$$ for parts (pricy) and recommend for you to learn how to work on rotary really quick
