Hey Oblivion, wish i had more insight for you. I picked up an 87 bout 3 months back. It ran like a dog when i bought it, spitting and sputtering, not wanting to idle. Turned out to be a vacum line that some half @ss mechanic forgot to reconnect after changing the clutch? I guess he tried to get the bellhousing bolts on the trans from the top instead of from under the car and moved the hose and forgot about it? Anyhow, i check all your connections and hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will stumble across this and help you out
