Removing a post theft damaged headunit?

Much more general question... My FCs headunit had been half stolen previously, some crap with no visible brand, made in 2002, faceplate wouldn't sit on properly... was broken.

Underplate (no idea what is called) was damaged, no keys for it, . And to be honest to bend back the edges I just made it worse. I can put up photos in the morning. Point is, does anybody know any way of forcibly removing a damged headunit that has had the edges where you press in the locking tabs mangled?
